Opportunities for Reflection and Preparation during Lent
During the season of Lent there will be a variety of opportunities at St. Mary Magdalene to reflect and prepare as we approach Holy Week and Easter. They include:
1) Lenten Series: Wednesdays, 6:00-7:30pm, Mar 13-Apr 10
Join us at 6pm for dinner and series Breathing Underwater: Spirituality and the Twelve Steps. This series will explore Richard Rohr’s book, which illuminates the Steps through the teachings of Jesus, Paul, the OT prophets, and other Biblical sources.
2) Centering Prayer: Tuesday mornings @ 9:15am
The Centering Prayer group meets in the library on Tuesday mornings at 9:15. We begin with 20 minutes of Centering Prayer, followed a reading and a time of contemplative dialogue.
3) Labyrinth Walks:  Fridays March 8 – April 12 @ 12:00 noon
“The Labyrinth is one of the oldest contemplative and transformational tools known to humankind.”  Find quiet & connection on our outdoor Labyrinth each Friday in Lent. Dress warmly. If the weather is inclement, there will a period for Contemplative Prayer, and/or Lectio Divina in the Sanctuary.  The Wednesday evening service in Holy Week will use the indoor labyrinth as a way to experience the Stations of the Cross.
4) Lenten Art Retreat:  Saturday, April 6 @ 10am-4pm
Plan to join us at SMM for a contemplative art retreat facilitated by Sue Wallingford, M. A., LPC, artist and Art Therapy professor at Naropa University.  Details to be announced soon!
