Lamplight Mental Illness Support Group
“The lamps are different, but the light is the same.”
– Rumi
Lamplight is a group both for those with mental illness and those supporting loved ones with mental illness. Our first session will be at 7:00pm on Thursday, December 6th, with a focus on the holidays, debriefing from Thanksgiving and preparing for December holidays. This is not group therapy, but a group to foster support, celebrating successes and sharing compassion for struggles. All are welcome, including all and no faiths. These meetings are open to our general community.
Beginning in January, Lamplight will meet on the first and third Thursdays of each month from 7 to 8:30pm in the library. The first Thursday will be a lecture format, with the goal of sharing education about mental illnesses. The third Thursday will be in a support-group format with time for sharing and reflecting.
