Mary Magdalene and the Black Madonna
This 3-part series will explore historical, cultural, scriptural, and spiritual dimensions of the Divine Feminine, including our patroness Mary Magdalene, various Biblical characters and images, and the archetype of the Black Madonna. Come and have your mind and heart opened.
Sunday, September 30th @ 9:00am: “Traveling with the Divine Feminine.” Fr. Bruce and Daphne will share pictures and stories from their recent journey to sites related to St. Mary Magdalene and the Black Madonna in southern France. We’ll visit the cave where she is said to have lived for the last 30 years of her life and the basilica that houses her relics.
Friday, October 5th @ 7:00-9:00pm (registration at 6:30pm): “The Divine Feminine in the Bible.” Meet Sophia, Shekinah, Bakerwoman God, and other feminine images of God. Led by The Rev. Mary Hardy. Suggested donation: $15 (free with registration for Saturday workshop)
Saturday, October 6th @ 9:00am-4:00pm (registration at 8:30am): “The Black Madonna with the Labyrinth.” The Black Madonna is re-emerging in the dreams and consciousness of many people today. What is she calling us to be and do? Join us for a mystical journey on the Labyrinth. Led by The Rev. Mary Hardy. Suggested donation: $50 (includes Friday evening presentation and lunch on Saturday).
Saturday, October 6th @ 5:00pm: “Contemplative Eucharist on the Labyrinth.” Our usual Saturday evening liturgy, adapted to take place on the Labyrinth.
