Centering Prayer is available in the church library every Tuesday from 9:15 to 10:15 am.  It begins with a brief reading, then a time of “sitting” for 20 minutes of silent centering prayer, followed by readings and contemplative dialogue.  Although it involves silence, it is an active, intentional mode of being with God.  This method of prayer is drawn from ancient prayer practices of the Christian contemplative heritage, notably the Fathers and Mothers of the desert.  The primary purpose of the group is to help sustain commitment to individual Centering Prayer and the practice of welcoming the presence and activity of God in our lives.

The current book is Invitation to Love by Thomas Keating and can be obtained at the group meeting.
