Annual Community Thanksgiving Service is Tonight! 
We hope you can join the Gunbarrel Faith Partnership for an interfaith service of thanksgiving and fellowship tonight, Wednesday, Nov 21 at 7:00pm at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church at 7077 Harvest Rd, Boulder, CO 80301. A festive pie reception follows. All are welcome! See you there!

Wednesday Evening Advent Series 
Join us on Wednesdays, November 28 – December 19, from 6:00pm to 7:30 pm for dinner, fellowship, and holiday cheer.  We will open this intergenerational series with dinner and Advent wreath making.  All ages welcome from 0 to 99!  We will meet November 28, December 5, and December 12 and end with the Christmas Play on December 19.  Please contact Sue Crowley for more information.
Music Night the at the Mulcares’ 
All are welcome at 7:00pm on November 30 to Mulcare Manor which will be hosting a Music Night. For you who are new to Music nights, they are a chance to visit with old friends and new while having fun singing our hearts out. We usually start with songs from the Songs for Worship book both new and old. About an hour into the night we switch gears and bring out the oldies (Eagles, John Denver, Creedence etc). Feel free to bring beverages or snacks to share but don’t feel obligated. If you play an instrument, bring it too. Hope you can join us on the 30th. Contact Dennis Mulcare.
Blue Christmas Service  
Join us at 5pm on Saturday, December 1st, for our annual Blue Christmas Service. It is a time to remember and acknowledge that for some members of our church family, the holidays may be hard. Many experiences can make it difficult to step fully into the joy of the season: loss, change, grief, uncertainty, overwhelm.  People come to this service for many reasons: for self-care, to give care to one another, or simply to begin the season with gentle grounding and intention. Please join us as we ponder the promise of a light that shines in the darkness.  Contact Courtney Gambrell.
Adult Forum: The Refugee Crisis in Lesvos, Greece
At 9:00am on Sunday, December 2, parishioner Susan Odiseos will be leading an adult forum on the humanitarian crisis on the island of Lesvos, Greece. Over 10,000 refugees live in squalor inside a camp built to house only 1,500. Susan will share her personal experience serving women at the camp, as well as work her children and grandchildren have done there. Please make plans to join this forum to learn more about the crisis and needs of the people involved.
Christmas Play Rehearsals
Mark your calendars for children’s play rehearsals which will be held Sundays December 2, 9, and 16 from 12 to 1pm (12-2pm on the 16th).  Roles for children will be distributed at the first practice.  Please contact Sue Crowley for more information.
Outreach Christmas Collection for Mother House 
From November 24 to December 22 the Outreach Ministry will be hosting a donation drive for Mother House to collect winter clothing items, household goods, etc. Mother House provides a safe haven for any pregnant woman in need, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, or gender identity. They are committed to protecting mothers and their children, providing a nurturing and loving home, and encouraging them to build the confidence and the skills necessary for a successful future. You may place your donations in the big wrapped box near the parking lot doors! Find a full list of needs here!
Building Use at St. Mary Magdalene

Have you noticed all the hustle and bustle around Mary Magdalene these days? In addition established ministries and meetings we have many new workshops and groups which also using our beautiful campus. With all this our space remains limited.

To limit schedule conflicts and help make events as successful as possible, we will be scheduling building use by reservation. If you have a meeting, workshop, or other event that you would like to host at St. Mary Magdalene please contact the church office to set up your reservation. The office will confirm availability and offer alternatives if the space or date is not available. Include the following in your email:
  1. Event Title
  2. Date and time the of event including the expected duration
  3. Requested Room
  4. Expected number of attendees
  5. Audio/Visual and set up needs
  6. Organizer Contact Information including an email address and phone number
Regularly scheduled meetings and rooms will remain the same unless a change is requested by the ministry leader. Thank you for helping us continue to create a space for all as we Celebrate and Share God’s Love together.
Episcopal Relief for California Wildfires 
As you know, the current wildfires in California have become the most destructive in the state’s history. Episcopal Relief & Development is partnering with the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles and the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California as they coordinate with local congregations to provide emergency support to those impacted by the wildfires in Northern and Southern California. The US Disaster Team is in daily communication with the dioceses through coordination calls to organize response efforts. You are invited to support the ongoing work with the impacted dioceses.

A new Centering Prayer Group meets in the Library on Wednesdays at  6:00pm (note time change from 7:00pm). Please contact Carolyn Baker for more information.

Upcoming Diocesan Family Retreats
Mother & Daughter Diocesan Retreat | January 4th – 6th
For girls grade 6 and above, and women of all ages.  Invite your mother, friend, daughter, granddaughter to a weekend of fellowship, faith-deepening, and fun.
Father & Son Diocesan Retreat | January 11th-13th
For fathers and sons of all ages (recommended for boys grade 1 and above).  Come enjoy a weekend with your father or father figure, or bring your son or young person you’re mentoring. This is for men looking for activity, play, and rest in the beautiful mountains of Cathedral Ridge.
Becoming a Member at St Mary Magdalene
Membership at St Mary Magdalene is pretty simple and straightforward. According to our church by-laws, all that’s required is regular worship OR financial contribution OR active participation in ministry.  The only other thing that’s needed is the desire to identify SMM as one’s church home.  If you are feeling called to become a member of St Mary Magdalene, please contact Fr Bruce.
