“Becoming Living Stones”
A Stewardship Update
by Pete Morreale
The Stewardship annual pledge campaign is in full swing.  This is our annual time to reflect on how we financially support the operation of St Mary Magdalene and promise that support via pledging.   We encourage you to consider a pledge even if you regularly contribute via the plate.  Pledges allow us to more accurately predict our income levels and enable solid planning for the financial year.
This Sunday, Oct 21st, will be the second Sunday and marks the halfway point of the campaign.   We will wrap up the campaign on Nov 4th, with an in-gathering as well as the official installation of Fr Bruce as our Rector.

Becoming a Member at St Mary Magdalene
Membership at St Mary Magdalene is pretty simple and straightforward. According to our church by-laws, all that’s required is regular worship OR financial contribution OR active participation in ministry.  The only other thing that’s needed is the desire to identify SMM as one’s church home. Those who wish to do so come forward at the Community Blessing for a brief ceremony and then write their names in the Parish Register. If you are feeling called to become a member of St Mary Magdalene, please contact Fr Bruce. Sunday, Nov 4th would be an especially appropriate time. For more information click here.
Connect with Coffee Talk
Do you have car to sell, last minute tickets you can’t use, or need a used appliance?  If so, then connect with others in the St. Mary Magdalene community through Coffee Talk.  It is SMM’s informal communications platform to share what you have or may need.  Simply email and everyone on the email list will receive your message.  If you would like to be added to the distribution list email your request to the church office here.
Buy Grocery Cards to Support St. Mary Magdalene
Did you know that you can support the ministry of St. Mary Magdalene by purchasing reloadable cards for stores such as King Sooper’s?  SMM will receive 5% cash back for all purchases made on these cards.  For example, in the second quarter of 2018 the church received $1,289.14 in proceeds from card use.  It is an easy and fantastic way to support our church community.  Contact Colleen Brolin to purchase cards or to learn more.
