“Your young ones will see visions; your elders will dream dreams”
by Fr Bruce Swinehart
Last week the Vestry and I received the Vision Statement for St Mary Magdalene that was crafted by Jim Watkins, Jane Rogers, Debbie Buckman, Paul Chyc, Robin Guilford and Sue Crowley.  They did an amazing job of prayerfully weaving together all of the input generated at our community visioning process on July 22nd, plus follow-up conversations with families. They also incorporated the results of conversations and surveys that were conducted last fall.
The Vision Statement is guiding the Vestry and me as we discern together the possibility of me becoming Rector of St Mary Magdalene (that decision is expected to be made no later than October 9th).  Going forward, the Vision Statement will continue to be a touchstone reminding us who we are in God’s sight. It will be a signpost at every crossroad, continually calling us into God’s dream for St Mary Magdalene.

The Standing Committee urges every delegate and member of the clergy to attend a meeting as part of your discernment of who leads us in the next phase of our spiritual journey.

Communion Bread Bakers Needed!
Would you like to bake communion bread? The recipe is simple – making and baking takes about a half hour on Friday evening or early Saturday morning.  Deliver the bread to the church before 10:00 am Saturday.  It is nice too if you present it at the offertory on Sunday Morning, but not necessary.  This is a wonderful expression of service and care for your church family! Contact Janet Poley to volunteer.  Find the recipe here!
Buy Grocery Cards to Support St. Mary Magdalene
Did you know that you can support the ministry of St. Mary Magdalene by purchasing reloadable cards for stores such as King Sooper’s?  SMM will receive 5% cash back for all purchases made on these cards.  For example, in the second quarter of 2018 the church received $1,289.14 in proceeds from card use.  It is an easy and fantastic way to support our church community.  Contact Colleen Brolin to purchase cards or to learn more.
