Evening Worship | Sunday, April 3rd, 5pm
Evening worship at St. Mary Magdalene begins at 5pm on Sunday April 3 and will meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month moving forward.  Join us for this beautiful, intimate worship service.

Haiti Scholarship Celebration and Fundraiser | Volunteers Needed
Following the 10am service on May 15 this event will celebrate our children and their transitions to the next grade along with the acknowledgement and celebration of our class in Haiti who will be moving from 5th to 6th grade.  It will also begin a month-long scholarship fundraiser for our class from May 15 to June 12 at Sunday services.  Volunteers are needed for the May 15th celebration.  Sign up to attend,  provide food, or help with setup.  Contact Teresa Henry, Mark Christie, or Amy Thornbury for more information.

Calling All Youth Pretzel Makers! | Sunday, April 3rd
Did you know that the pretzel was made to represent a person in prayer?  It’s TRUE!  Come April 3, 2016 at 9:00 and help us make pretzels and learn about prayer for Eastertide!  We may even learn about the labyrinth!  Contact Deacon Bill.

Wholehearted Women | Sunday, April 3rd, 6:00-7:30pm
The new SMM Women’s Group is an opportunity for women to meet and discuss issues of faith, spirituality, and growth. Our first book for discussion is Brené Brown’s The Gifts of Imperfection. All women are welcome.  We will meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month in the church library.  Contact Lynn Mulcare or Sue Ellis.

Children’s Park Play Date | Saturday, April 16th, 11am
Families with young children (0-6ish) please mark your calendars for April 16th at 11:00 am.  We will have a play date at Tom Watson Park/Coot Lake in Gunbarrel.  The park has great play equipment, open space for games, and a lake to walk around or fish, with a license.  We’ll gather at 11:00 at the park shelter.  There will be pizza and drinks provided, and plan to enjoy a relaxing and fun time together.  End time TBD.  Contact Carmel Hill.

Youth Volunteer Day at Sister Carmen | Sunday, April 17th
On Sunday April 17 from 1:00 to 3:30, youth in grades 6-12 are invited to volunteer at the Sister Carmen Thrift Store located at 701 W. Baseline Rd., Lafayette.  We’ll get lunch after church, then have a tour and learn which tasks need to be done at the store, such as thanking donors, accepting donations, sorting clothing, and placing items on the shopping floor.  Please wear closed-toe shoes and a sweatshirt or jacket, and bring a water bottle, if you’d like.  Contact Dave Petroy and Amy Thornbury.

Interim
The Diocese has appointed the Rev. Sarah Berlin serve as short-term interim from March 1, 2016, to June 30, 2016.  Rev. Sarah has past interim experience at Transfiguration in Evergreen and is deeply grounded in pastoral care and contemplative prayer.

Pastoral Care
Cheryl Andrews has volunteered to once again be the lay Pastoral Care coordinator for SMM and act as the key point of contact for the congregation’s pastoral care needs.

Interns
Our Iliff Interns Bill+ and Katie will be at St. Mary Magdalene through the end of May for their remaining internship periods!

Haiti Travel Update
Paul Chyc and Teresa Henry recently completed an education trip to Haiti.  See Outreach for details.

Sunday Worship
As we move forward together please note the service times for Sunday morning worship at Mary Magdalene will be at 8am and 10am.  There will be a 5pm service on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month.  Come and join us as we “celebrate and share God’s love”!

Adult Formation
Between our 8am and 10am services every 1st Sunday of the month, adults are invited to grab some snacks and then attend our Sunday adult forum.  For nursery options and formation for older children, see the Children’s webpage.  For youth formation, see the Youth webpage.

Children’s & Youth Formation
Between our 8am and 10am services every 1st Sunday of the month, children and youth are invited to grab some snacks and then enjoy some fun and service activities.  On other Sundays, children and youth formation is during the 10am service. See Children’s and Youth pages for details.

Nursery
On the 1st Sunday of each month, the nursery is not staffed, but nursery-age children can stay with their parents for the adult forum or go with the other children. On other Sundays, there is usually a staffed nursery during the 10am service. See the Children’s page for details.

Acolytes Needed — Adults and Youth!
Have you ever been interested in becoming an acolyte? They light the altar candles, carry the candle to the aisle for the Gospel reading, assist with preparations for communion, and lead the procession at the end of the service. Training is provided, and this opportunity is open to all; adults and youth! Please contact or Tina Fredo for more information.

Volunteers for Worship
The parishioners who volunteer their time to help create our shared worship space are many and wonderful. If you would like to explore or serve with the Altar Guild, Acolytes, Band or Choir, Ushers or Greeters, Healing Prayer ministers, Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs), or Sound Engineers, please see the list of ministries and contacts at the Welcome Table or contact Brian in the office.

For the love of food and community | Weekly
Hosting coffee hour (providing snacks and making coffee) after the 10am Sunday service is a great way to combine our love of food and spending time together.  (To facilitate foundation, the 1st Sunday’s coffee hour will be hosted by SMM after the 8am service.) To support this hospitality, sign up here or in the back of the church. (These lists are reconciled each Monday.) If this is your first time hosting or you’d like assistance or have questions, please call or email Sheila Martinson.

Altar Flowers | Weekly
Altar flowers are a powerful way to honor loved ones or special events. To dedicate/donate Altar flowers, simply sign up here or on the bulletin board by the church office. (These lists are reconciled each Monday.) The Office will call you in advance of your chosen date with more instructions.  Contact Brian Gates (church office).

Grocery Cards | Weekly
After principal services, volunteers sell cards for local grocery stores. SMM receives 5% on all sales. And they are rechargeable! For a list of available cards and for more information, contact Colleen Brolin.
